i am hoping that someone out there can help me with the history of my watch. It has a really nice story behind it. Iv had the watch now for almost forty years. I was 14 yrs old when i found it hidden in an old basement in ahome in st.louis mo. i found this site by mistake but thought maybe someone out there can give me info to the history/worth of such a nice piece of workmanship. i dont think that i would ever sell it but i am intersted in knowing about it. i input the ser# num into this one data base and recieved info that is greek to me so i will provide it here. if anyone has info that could help me please feel free to email me at kevbev7@cox.net i will thank you ahead of time. the ser#num is 1369231 it states year-1882 grade-10 size-18s code-hfg21b jewels-11j first year- 1878 last year-1885 class-5 What doas quick train or slow train mean?On looking inside it has a beautiful gold or brass color. The two covers are silver, prob sterling with the word fahys coin no 1 with nun after that of x4221. it also has wonderful engravings on both sides of what appears to be flowers and a bird. IT just has always fasinated me. i love old things that make you think of the stories they could tell if they could talk plus things like this just arent made with pride anymore. I would really apprciate anybodys help .if nothing else then on how to read the codes. As a kid i was always facinated with watches but i really know nothing about them.
