Subject: Square Elgin pocket watch

 I have an old Elgin pocket watch in a square face and with what sounds like a plastic 'crystal.'
There are no markings anywhere on the watch but it does have a separate second hand at the six o'clock position.
We know that it is at least 70 years old but have no idea what it is or where it came from.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
