Just bought an 'art deco' 'vintage' Elgin wristwatch from e-bay. I suspect that the watch is not vintage but a new copy. The watch is mint throughout and does NOT have a serial number anywhere, just ELGIN and XYX stamped on the mechanism. On the face is written - Elgin sportsman and is rectangular about 27mmX24. Brushed gold colored case and SS back. I am really worried about the absence of a serial number. The seller claims it to be 1930s or later. Paid £88 so I want it to be genuine! Picture available to anyone who can help.
