It's kind of hard to read the serial number, but if I have it right your watch was maed about 1895. It's a nice medium-high quality Elgin watch, a "G.M. Wheeler" grade (Wheeler was one of Elgin's early directors, and a line of watches was named after him. Think of it like a car model's name).

The "pin" for setting is actually called a lever, and this would be referred to as a "lever set" watch. It was a device that was used on high quality watches meeting railroad standards, as well as some other watches (like this one) so that the time couldn't be accidentally changed when winding the watch.
