I was given a Elgin watch from my Grandmother dated 1884. It is in mint condition and has beautiful artwork on the case. It looks like black hills gold on both sides. One side has a bluebird with flowers. The other side has a spot for a family crest and blue flowers and green leaves. I cannot find anything like it on the web sites. I cannot figure out how to get the serial number since the sides are so smooth and I am afraid of scratching it since it is over 130 years old. I just love to hear it tick. Does anyone have any info on a watch like this? Is it one of a kind?
