Grateful for an email respose to: mcnimbus@gmail.com
Dear watch experts!
I have come across an 1871 keywind Elgin class 5, grade 12.
On the movement, at 6 o'clock, the name: G.M. Wheeler is engraved, upside down (if you consider 12 o'clock as up).
The style correlates with the Elgin factory name at 12 o'clock (also engraved upside down).
From what I understand, these movements were not supposed to be marked with this name, or am I misstaken?
Highly grateful for an answer.
Yours truly:
Lars Persson, Sweden.
