Sorry to hear of your loss - it's obviously going to be tough to locate once again, but you never know. I hope you reported it to the police at the time.

Other than frequenting pawn shops and the like in your area, you can try a couple of things - post a description with as much info as you can (including the watch's serial number, if you have it) on the "Stolen Items" forum of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors mesage board, at http://nawcc-mb.infopop.cc/6/ubb.x

The other is to see if it turns up on ebay, by saving a search with key terms (eg, the serial number, Elgin and the inscribed name), and check periodically to see if there are any "hits."
