Thanks John, you answered my next question as well. I had no intentions of trying to replace these hands myself.
My next question, of probably a 1000, is, about the crystal. Ma says she was told it's not the original. The watch face is white and the crystal appears to be amber or has yellowed over time. Are watch crystals plastic and not glass or true crystal? And can these be purchased through these web sites you linked as parts suppliers? There are some small spider webbed cracking starting to appear from the center of the crystal outward. And mostly, by repairing these flaws, will this affect the monetary value of this watch. I mean, after all, this watch is 105 years old, you'd expect the crystal to be cracked and the hands to be rusted or broken, but still in working condition, that about floored me when I applied some pressure to the center spoked wheel and the watch took off! It was like resuscitating a drowning victim and having them return! WOW! So, what am I down to know, 986 more questions?
Thank you so much for your help. Ps. I did add a small amount of 3in1 oil to some of these parts until I can get this watch looked at.
