Subject: Elgin Canteen Watch

Know the canteen watches (of the 1960's varietal, not WW2) from Elgin are exceptionally rare.

Recently came across two completely pristine (NOS) canteen cases, in an old parts lot from a collector/watchmaker.

The kicker tho -- both appear to be in original condition/packaging from the factory but not with the usual Elgin black dials.

Both are silver, one marked with Holmar, the other Ermano. Is there any record of Elgin providing cases for canteen watches by either "brand"?

Would love to get to the bottom of this one. Appreciate any insight you all might have.
