As a weary traveler of this world of happiness and pain
Sometimes I sit and contemplate, sheltered, listening to the rain
As a child we look wide-eyed towards what seems a shining sun
The Universe beckons a whole world of wonder and promise
We stumble and run childlike with others who hold our hands
As learning leads us to our own pathways..we step into the unknown
People gather that can help and harm us..we must choose
Lifestyles and life ways develop and fade on parallel pathways
The way of right is usually rough but straight and narrow.

Sometimes we climb mountains that seem just sheer cliffs
When all seems impossible suddenly life throws us a strong rope
Then we excitedly reach for that last but onward peak
Once achieved we again go forward over vallies and plains
Great rivers stretch before us intimidating ..through patience we then ford
Lovers hold out their hands and it is then we choose a soul-mate
What follows is an emotional roller-coaster with many outcomes
O how we expect life to give us such happiness..sadly not always the case

We make our own pathway ..the desired one is love and understanding
But some choose Greed that leads to much despair and loss of humanity
IT is with sadness many stand and realise too late they have taken the wrong path
I beg of all who read these words think carefully about that next bend
Think carefully about taking that shortcut or the dark way
Haste leads us to disastrous voids and darkness looses us the way
Walk solid, stay strong, love well, Work towards understanding
It is your choice for the light of understanding has many colours

Be at peace with yourself and others
Do not scorn what is hard to understand but learn to enlighten
May your journey continue and you find the success you truly seek
