Subject: The Rocking Horse

For many years he was loved by the boy
Many times did he give the children joy
Sitting on back back and rock
Weee... to and fro, Too and fro
A wonderful cowboy or Knight did they play
All of this fun .. please...don’t go away

Little horse was happy
He was so proud and gay
For everyday he’d make the children play
Times go along and clock made it too
Lots of fun laughter, evenings when it was rainy and cool
Go my little horse, go , I love you
Christmas and Birthdays, young Jimmy grew

Till the day that Jimmy went far away
Sadly, the rocking moved to the attic
Now he was hiding behind a shroud of cobwebs..forgotten
Teardrops formed in horse's eyes..
Missing Jimmy, whispers in a sad attic

On day sunshine came through the attic window
A noise down stairs...
Home had come young Jimmy, now a grown man
A smile on his face, a wonderful surprise
Peter, Said Jimmy "This is my Horse..Horse this is my Son"
Peter smiled and jumped on horse.. happy and wide eyed

Now all the days began again
For the horse had been painted and on the mend
Laughter and happiness returned
And children’s surprise
All reflected in beautiful brown rocking horse eyes
