Twas Once Upon a MidSummer Daze
We danced to the Purple Haze
Whilst Young Jimmi burned Guitars
And Janice drank whiskey from a jar
Kieth drummed up a Strange rock brew
And sounds of My Generation became its due

Hippy Girls and Hippy Guys
Alternative ways, alternative lives
We came to Nature green surround
And optimism was all around
St Pepper formed his merry band
And peace declared within the land

The Animals sang the winds of change
And forward thinking did rearrange
Deep Purple played "Sweet Child in Time"
And poetry began serious rhyme
For weird scenes were sang within the Goldmine
Paying homage to the Lizard King

Thin Lizzy made a Jailbreak
And Bonnie sang of Loves Heartache
Pink Floyd made Bricks within the wall
And the Rolling Stones heard Mona call
Elvis Too he sang of Ghettos O so sad
The Knack it told of My Sherona not bad
The Pistols came and brought a new

Now Punk exploded music farce became askew
Exciting ways exciting sounds
Much more music for ears to be found
Computers now they play a part
A special sound with vocal art
To new music futures we do ride
The sound of rock will always abide
