"Archer!"
[came the call, even as she began arranging the preliminaries for a simple illusion-spell]
"I've a little challenge for you, Champion. I can see you've turning capabilities, but agility is so much more than turning."
[she flicked her fingers almost as if she was brushing away dust, and hovering in the air were a series of logs. Some were vertical, some were horizontal - the first patch was vertical, the second half horizontal. Each was in a straight line, but she shifted them so that they were not perfectly straight, but rather every other one was off to one side, and the remaining ones to the other. Therefore a narrow 'channel' existed between the logs, even the horizontal ones, where every other one had risen, and the others lowered]
"Now Archer, I want you to weave in and out of these logs. They're illusions, for the sole purpose I've no intent to have my champion injured. They're off to the sides to begin with so you can weave through them easier, by the time you've perfected this I expect you to be able to complete this without such a gap between the logs, so that they're perfectly straight. And then, if you're up to an even more challenging challenge, perhaps you can do this exact pattern, as it is, where you go on the opposite side of the log than the easy path. But that is not until later."
[she glanced at the first section]
"I suppose you can take this any way you wish, but my advice is to start your weaving on the right side of the first log, as it is off to the left. If you were advanced and were to try this pattern the hard way, I'd have you start on the left, as you would have to do an awful lot of flexing and such to be able to swing around the right side of the next log and than the left of the next. So. Remember - start on the right, then to the left of the next log, to the right of the following one, and so on. Begin at will, I am timing."
[she paused in consideration]
"Unless you'd rather do something else?"
