I am a former Russian citizen who became an U.S. Citizen in 1983. 1 taught at the University of North Carolina, the Defense Language Institute (DLI) and the Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California. I have also been a guest lecturer at George Washington University and universities in Rome, Moscow and Massachusetts. I was a faculty member of the Social Medicine and East﷓European Institute of Psychoanalysis in St. Petersburg. I was a senior Research Associate at the Leningrad State Archives of Literature and Art and at the Archives of the October Revolution from 1971 to 1974. I was a teacher of Russian language, literature, sociology and aesthetics at various Leningrad institutions. After emigration I lectured at the University of Massachusetts at Amhurst, at the On﷓Site Inspection Agency (OSIA) and at the National Security Agency (NSA).

I have lived in Bavaria for 15 years and am teaching at the U.S. Army Russian Institute/George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies. I am a professor of Russian Area Studies, and conduct courses on such topics as "The Russian Mind", 'Political Decision making Systems ". "Opposition in Russia", "Russian Civilization", and "Russian Diplomacy"...

My education includes a master's degree from Leningrad University (in Philology and Philosophy), a doctorate from the University of North Carolina (Ph.D. in Russian Literature and Political Science), and a Post﷓Doctoral Science Internship with the Presidential Administration of Russia (1996﷓97). I am presently serving as an expert advisor to the Analytical Center of the Russian Senate on International Affairs and as a consultant for the Institute for Analysis & Management of Conflicts and Stability (Moscow). I have been selected for membership in the International Club of Writers (PEN club), the American Association of Political Consultants, the American Academy of Political Science, des Artists de Russe a Paris, the Canadian Association of Journalists, the Russian Association of the Theory and Modeling of International Relations, des Artists de Russie a Paris (France). the Russian Association of Journalists, and the Royal﷓Institute of International Affairs (London),

I have written five books, in both the U.S. and Russia, dealing with the Russian mind and culture from 18th. century through the present. I have also published numerous articles, interviews, reviews and poetry.
