Well, our 3rd annual effort at a multi year, Essex alumni event was held during the 4th weekend in June this year at the Button Bay State Park on Lake Champlain just outside of Vergennes. This year, it coincided with an annual family camping weekend that a number of families with ties to Essex have been participating in for several years. Visitors can check out the 'events page' at Boysweekend.com for more details on this year's event, including some photo's of those in attendance (actually it was a great family camping weekend and I'm not sure anybody even mentioned an alumni event).

This alumni event organizer has helped to plan the last 3 multi-year events now, with some help from my friends; all of which were lots of fun even if they weren't big in numbers! I also have fond memories of helping to organize a five year event at the Indian Brook Reservoir that was well attended and somewhere there's a bunch of pictures.

As Ana has indicated on another thread, the summer of 2006 is the big 30 years out for graduates from 1976! I, for one, look forward to hearing where and when this next event is taking place. I've heard rumors of Essex Center, or possibly Westford. I think it would be great to have it somewhere reasonably close to Essex like this. I also think it would be great to have an event that combines something during the day for families.

This website was established to help organize the 25th, '76 reunion effort at the Sheraton in South Burlington (pictures from this event can be viewed at this site). Hope to hear from those interested in participating in the upcoming 2006 event and will check in from time to time for updates on the planning process! Don't be such a stranger! The Spirit Year is Here again!
