Hey, I'm back again folks :o)

Some very kind people in Costa Rica (CR) by the names of Phyllis and Bill Root sent me an email informing me of the attached web site. This method the opal miner is using to suck up material is basically what I had in mind. Check it out and see what you think. I'm not totally clear yet on exactly how their system is working but it's close to what I already have in mind. I guess I could do what I already have in mind. That is to stop dredging long enough to go to the drywasher everytime the vacuum bucket is full, which is mounted above the drywasher, and simply open the trap door on the bottom of the, now full, vacuum bucket.

This would release the vacuumed material onto the hopper's classifying screen in a measured flow. Once the bucket is empty, which wouldn't take long at all, I could close the trap door and go back to dredging.

The vacuum motor could be left running the whole time since this method wouldn't take long to complete!!

I still would much rather have the material running through the system and into the drywasher without stopping :o(

I just might give this way of land dredging with a drywasher a go. I'll keep you posted :o)
