I always carry my MD10. If I’m detecting I use it as a probe to locate target signals after digging those large recovery holes that are sometimes necessary with the Minelab GP and some of the larger coils. If I’m sniping, I use it as a crevicing tool. The sensitivity is unmatched, but remember it is an all metal detector. That of course means it will sound off on metal objects and iron stones. The ferrous check method is fairly simple though. If it sounds off pulling away from the target it is ferrous. If it sounds off going toward the target it is non-ferrous. They are a little tricky to tune, but with practice you will get it.
