Pat, I will read Jim McCulloch's "Nuggetshooter" book.I had the good fortune to met him at GPAA Gold Show in Placerville,Ca.a few years ago and got to talk to him about the GMII during a slow period and his advice to me, was to pick up a DD Coil...he even offered to sell me his "own used one" at a GREAT PRICE,when he found out I was on a strict buget, but I just didn't have the cash!!!
I broke even this last year and have a used one coming in the mail right now.Thank You.

Digger Bob, Yes I will read "Zip Zip", it has been on my "To Read List" for sometime.I was taught how to recover targets out at the Alpha Pit(A Quatem Leap for me)that he talks about in this book,Back before the new claim owners stopped letting people go out there to prospect.Thank you.

John,Great Advice!I have tried all the GM detectors.I first learned how to metal detect with the GM V-Sat and it was a very slow learning curve for me of about 2 years(as I was self taught)but I was bound and determined to learn after reading several books by Jim Straight and his letter of encourgement to me that Detecting is a skill I needed to add to my prospecting efforts as a Single Jack Prospector...HeHeHe,I'm so glad that I listened to his advice, he too was right. By the way, I'm still looking for that "Ugly Woman" who has a geology degree and/or gold mine, chops firewood, cooks over a open fire, can shoot straight, and must be a Real Golddigger with a Heart of Gold!!!

Gentlemen,Having tried all the Gold Masters and finding for myself, that the GM3,IMO,is the Best detector they have made(with the GMT a close second, but too frail for purposes)why doesn't Whites still make this Detector?
Thank You All for this Great advice,
Mitchell
