Jerry--- still looking for an original handle. Will use a subt. until I find one. The value of the handcrank is that it weighs about 35 pounds and can be carried with a strap.
With a small backpack, and no. 2 shovel; plus other gear the
total weight less than 60 pounds. Remember when you were on active duty you carried about 75 pounds! I carried a BAR for about a week during basic--- the BAR about 20 pounds, and ammo about another 20 plus the normal field gear. Us army grunts were able to pack more weight than the marines.

I'm sure you will peacefully agree. Also, I know you will agree that what we could pack 45- years ago; we can still pack today. Age has stiffened our bones--- making us less bendable and stronger!
