Hello Joe; great to see your post.

First, to anyone who has been reading this thread of posts: I'm sorry that Phil is closing his store. It is the small local shops where the customers can receive continuous individual attention and instruction. The small businesses are important and need support; without them the "small miners and prosprectors" (Us: you, and me)lose a valuable source of information. Anyone who buys the Infinium should try to get together with Phil for a day of "hands on" Instruction, at an agreed financial arrangement-- as Phil, as well as the other small local stores, have bills to pay. In this particular instance Phil has tied up money in buying a detector and is now trying to get back his original outlay in it's purchase. Phil knows and understand how to use the detectors he has sold. Also, Phil is into drywashing and can help any one get up to speed.

Okay Joe; thanks for bearing with me while I was on my "soapbox." I think the reference to "Garrett Monos" refers to the "monoloop" coils used on "Pulse type" machines. For months, Garrett Electronics has been advertising "mono" coils as being available for their Infinium, but for some reason, there has been delays in their availability.

I'm sure that eventually the "mono," will be on the market. However, I feel that the delay, as far as serving any "gold machine" market, will have cost them potentual sales. I suspect(?)--- but not certain as I do not hunt the beaches--- that the open spoke standard 10x14 inch DD coil will be the most popular with the shallow to deep water detectorists.
