I'm not 100% positive, but I think the XT18000 is a fast tracking ground balance detector. I can call Minelab and find out for sure. The reason I suspect this, is that originally they built the GT16000 (Ground Tracking 16000), then they came out with the FT16000 (Fast Tracking 16000), and then the XT17000 (Extra Tracking 17000) ,and then the XT18000 (Extra Tracking 18000). On the new "Eureka Gold" they have added a slow tracking mode for the lesser mineralized areas, that may help in picking up the smaller nuggets. I'll have to verify this info, but I think I'm correct in my thinking!
