Back in Feb 1990 on the Rand Mt. slope I found an alluvial-type "ugly" nugget with striations that weighted almost 3/4 ounce. The spot was where I took you when we last separated. It was trapped in the caliche. A number of larger nuggets were recovered in this same channel with a bulldozer back in the late 1980's.

Pat Keene at Keene Engineering is very well informed on the extent and location of the channel. He was giving me an impressive run-down on it's extent and direction when were were at a Keene Seminar "somewhere" in the El Paso's on Sunday, Jan 5th. I recommend you personally visit him when he has time to "jaw."Also, George Elwood is veryinterested
in the channel.

Rick, Jerry, and I are going after "it" with PI-type detectors. (Rick's GP-Extreme with 14-inch Coiltex seems to be the top dog.)

However, the mineralization not too bad for VLF-type. (So we are also going after the tinies with VLF-types and Jerry's GB-2 with 6.5 shoe seems to be the "king.")

As for me, for the big-ones I'm waiting for the "Monoloops" to become available for my Garrett Infinium and for the tinies I'm going to send my Lobo ST in for a tuneup. (But the "dark horse" for the tinies may(?) prove to be the 17000 in 32/6-inch circular DD.)

The point of all of this posting is to stimulate interest in other opinions. Come on guys; lets get it rolling. (However, If I can get my SCR-625 series "C" going ya' all don't have a chance)
