Boy you hit the nail on the head there Jim!

After the gold is found it is just another nugget it the poke, but the lasting friendships, since of freedom, and the thrill of the hunt are the biggest part of nugget shooting for me also.

As far as what detector is best as a dual purpose machine there are the Tesoro LST, White's MXT, and I also believe the new Troy is designed to do both well. All are within your price range, but be sure to shop around as prices really vary from dealer to dealer.

Always try to remember that the operator still has to find the gold, the detector just helps you pick it up (grin)
