I'm in here somewhere. I'll have it with me thursday so you can check it out. Didn't have much luck out in the Dale District, it is quite different than the El Paso's & Randsburg. It is a hard rock area, where I think it might be better to follow the heavy Quartz outcroppings, as Did Midge who came up with the only Nugget of our little trip. The wash's below the rock is probably good also, the large flat areas have a thin layer of rock and then fine silty sand as deep as you can dig, which gives the gold a long way to travel before it will settle on a hard layer. This was my first trip out there, not my last. I will have to spend some time figuring out the area, would appreciate some tips from others out there familiar with the area.
The 15" WOT picked up some fairly small pieces of lead, which makes me feel a bit better that I won't miss too much of the small stuff. I wore the controls on my belt to lighten up the weight of the 15" WOT, it is a bit heavier than the stock coil and a little akward till you get use to the weight at the end of the rod. A day at the beach worked the right muscles, so no problem, plus I got my first Gold of the year on the first day of the year. See you Thursday.
