Robert, see my posting below re: GMT vs. 18000. For a GMT vs. MXT comparison: the MXT is a three-mode, multi-purpose detector which has the second-best automatic GB prospecting mode on the market today (Number one is the GMT). In essence, the Prospecting mode on the MXT is very similar to that on the GMT, except that the MXT operates at 14.7 kHz, whereas the GMT operates at 48 kHz. Thus, the GMT is a bit more senitive to really tiny gold nuggets, but, the MXT handles "bad" ground a bit better. If you wish to be strictly an electronic prospector, go with the GMT. If you want to do it all, the MXT is the machine for you. HH Jim
