Hi Randy,

The LST sort of has a form of iron discrimination in the all metal mode. Try operating with the ground control set in the alkali mode. Now, when you encounter a target, make several passes over it. On many iron objects such as nails, the object will significantly reduce in audio and in some cases, will reduce to no signal. Signals from gold objects will not be effected as best as I have been able to tell.

As a simple test, you can take a nail set on the ground and then make several passes over it and see if it disappears.

Try it and see if your detector is like mine.
