Hello guys,

I think if four or five of you get together and plan on an organized search of a possible area where you can get-- or don't need permission to detect--- you may find an overlooked thin paystreak "or 'patch'" as the Ausies refer to it.

Back in late August, 1991, five of us happened to do this. (Don Brown was one of the group) In 45 minutes we recovered about 3.5 pounds (as weighed out on Don's (the late Don Brown of "Strike It Rich) scale in pieces at a time.) of really high-grade "speci." The area was about 10 x 140 feet on a slope below a hardrock mine dump that was idle since the 1920's. This was not Tertiary but of possible Jurassic age volcanics. One piece cleaned up in acid at about 81 grains.

The (late) claim owner was given his choice of "speci." I will never forget how his ol' eyes lit up when he looked at the gold under his hand lens. The agreement was 10 percent.

More recently: If you have a copy of (March? 2002) Lost Treasure, Dick Bosinski has an article on a (last July, 2001,) trip of similar nature, but of much more modest success. This is the same trip as written by Mas Kadanoga for ICMJ. I do not remember the issue but within the last few months.
