The GMT, in my experience, has better depth than the GB2, but the GB2 with 6-1/2" coil has it's own nitch where it is the choice, and that is in tight rocky washes and tailing piles. Nothing beats it there. It does take experience to learn the GB2, but once you learn it's language, it is the best discrimination by far over any of the machines. After 5 years+ learning it's lingo, I can tell you with 95%++ accuracy what's under the coil by sound...Most other experienced GB2 owners will tell you the same...As far as frequent ground balancing the unit, that just comes second nature after a while and you don't hardly notice you're doing it...That's my experience........Cheers, Ron
