The Sierra GoldMax coil is exceptional in most instances, its only real drawback being a little extra weight. $50 for one is a smoking deal, assuming there's no short in the wire connection and it hasn't been banged around too much. It is a pretty tough coil though, and you will find it detects nuggets down to sub-pinhead size on the surface, and .38 slug size down to 14-16" depending on mineralization--I've used the GMax extensively on the GM2, GM3, VSAT and GMT and it performs superbly on each machine. I told Jimmy Sierra I felt they should make it the standard coil for the Goldmaster Series...However, with the full range of standard concentrics, double D's, GoldMax and now the Mini-DD, I feel White's has hit a homerun...Assuming the latter turns out to be all it sounds like it may be...I'll be testing the one JS sent me this weekend at Rich Hill, Vulture Red Basin and Little San Domingo (if I don't melt in the 112 degrees heat)...Cheers, Ron
