Subject: Could have been the reason & a report on high mineralization

Hi Steve,

I was using a 1/4 oz nugget also (more round than flat) & could only get 7" to 8" in "air test". It banged out fine on the small but lacked depth on larger. This was one of the first ones out & if it had depth problems also, then it sounds like they have corrected that, with the newer batch (I will have to check one & see).

About HIGH mineralization ----- I sent one to VA to be tested in some real nasty soil. I know some of you nugget hunters are chuckling about Virginia and soil conditions, but believe me --- I have hunted some very mineralized areas all over Arizona & when I encountered this one are in VA, I was shocked! Had to ground balance every step or two (it was that bad) with other detectors.

It passed the high mineralization test with flying colors. That was what gave me so much hope for this detector. Automatic, quiet, sensitive to small targets, handled changing soil conditions like a dream. If depth has been improved for larger targets then it will be a good detector.
The layout & controls are not to my liking but if it works --- that's what counts!

Thanks for the heads up on the depth issue!

Al
