Don't get me wrong. I like O'Reilly. If his plan to make the network news programs "honest" would work, it would be great for the country. However, I am highly doubtful that it will work, which means that conservatives have few options if they don't get cable news. If you hit any of the online network news pages directly after the debates, you would see, as I did, the polls showing Kerry winning every debate 80+% to Bush with 10 to 14%. The poll disclaimers say they will be used for "information purposes." Try disinformation purposes.

My point was that if the network news slants left invariably, that FOX News was already "fair & balanced," because in the media as a whole, they were giving credence to the views of the moderates and the right-of-center, which the networks won't do. If the media as a whole becomes more responsible and truthful, showing both sides in an unbiased manner, I will concede a well-deserved victory to Bill O'Reilly.
