Hope, thanks so much for calling and talking to the lion the other day. He had the boohoos, too, and you put a smile on his face!

We are hopeful that the good doctor will discharge him from the hospital Wednesday morning. He says to tell you all that he gets knocked down, but he gets up again. And he will keep on fighting. He was severely dehydrated and they discovered that he had pneumonia, as well as more congestive heart failure, so he is doing piggyback IVs. Doc Coldfinger has set him up with home healthcare (not hospice), so he will be able to have a nurse come in and check on him, make sure he has O2 and fluids if and when he needs them.

He is still weak, but the difference in him since before I got him to the hospital is amazing. He couldn't lift his noggin to sneeze, let alone sit or stand without help and now he's doing all those things alone. He'd made it through 10 more days of radiation and we really weren't sure he would. To be so weak that he had to be carried out of bed was devastating to him. We sat outside the hospital in the sun this afternoon, just enjoying being alive, with November flower beds still vibrant with color and a yellow-ribboned flag pole close by.

He says to tell you all that he's got his dander up now and even though there is no guarantee that any of us have the next 10 minutes, the radiologist said he probably has 10 to 12 more months and he's going to take every second and spend it hugging on me.

That's all for now, folks, as I'm fixin' to head to the hospital with real food and hugs of my own.
