Subject: Update and an apology

Y'all know that I'm heading back to NYS. Packing is never an easy job, but this particular packing up has been extremely difficult. I have to decide as I go through the Lion's (many) things what to keep and what to throw or give away. It's like I have been given the power to decide what of his life was important and what was not. It all was, dammit! But there is only so much room on the moving van. Yes, what is most important is that he lives on in our memories of him and in how he effected/affected our lives, but still I learn about him as I go through his things. Scraps of paper with names, phone numbers, email addresses, dates, times, places. A note from Arden to his Pop asking him not to tell his mom he skipped school. A cassette tape with Laf's voice that caused Ayo's ears to perk up. Cards and letters from old girlfriends and friends, most of whom I know. In the middle of this process, I've received so many emails and messages, some concerned that they haven't heard from me, others sharing their thoughts about the Lion, all very much appreciated. In fact, these emails and conversations have sustained me through a difficult time.

I will be leaving Georgia at the end of April and starting Spring all over again in upstate NY. There are so many things I wanted to do, to take care of before I left, but the time just hasn't been available.

I love all of you guys. Thank God for the Internet. It is universal and when I get the puters set up again in NY, it will seem no different here at forum. Or maybe it will.

Trivia question: There is only one whose photograph keeps showing up in all the Lion's papers that I have been throwing away. Can you guess who? Father Dan, I am really not a saint after all:)
