Ron's right. I started this forum as a place for people to discuss things of a political and social nature and a place to have some fun from time to time as well. One rule I have stood by since starting this venue is one that seems to cause a few liberals a real problem. No one will be permitted to spew vitriolic, mindless, unprovable, unsupportable, undocumentable hate speech here... and it goes for everyone who might be the target of such classless flaming.
You won't be allowed to use the "N" word here. I will verbally stomp your worthless ass into oblivion for that! Anti-semiticism is VERBOTTEN as well. Gentle male/female superiority joking is simple good humor, but don't do it in a serious way or I will come down on you HARD! It doesn't matter to me which side you support when you spew hatred.
I am certain Ron will back me up when I say that I have even come to the defense of Bubba when some of the charges made against him went beyond the line of reason and propriety or weren't true. I despised the man and still do, but I will not permit false, baseless allegations to be bandied about, even against him. It was unnecessary to make up things about him or his socialist consort, Bilious, because they are so corrupt, so venal and such vile human beings that no one needs to make up anything about him or her.
I am certain that Ron remembers my discomfort with Bush 41, the father of our current Commander In Chief. I had serious misgivings about him from the start, but when compared to Dukakis, there was no other choice left. That did not stop me from saying something when I thought Papa Bush did something wrong... and he did! We read his lips and he stuttered... then he proved he lied to us. A lot if us felt the same way. It didn't matter what else he did in office, he had lied to us and caved in to the Dumbocans... once again.
I won't go so far as to say George W. Bush is a "great" President. The jury is still out on that as far as I cam concerned. He has, as yet, to prove to me that he understands that the Repoobs were given the tools to accomplish something long overdue in this nation in the last election cycle. If he squanders that chance, then he will be a one-termer, just as was his father. He had damned well better knock off the assaults on civil liberties and Constitutional rights some members of his administration keep trying to attack... notably John Ashcroft and Robert Mueller of the FBI. Stop spying on US and start gathering information on the maniacal, fanatical, American-hating Islamic terrorists AND THEIR SUPPORTERS WITH WORDS AND CASH among us. You people don't need my credit report or banking records in order to make a domestic airline flight safe. All you need to do is yank all the single Arabic-appearing males out of line and search them. Leave Granny Applewhite fo Bugtussle, Iowa and her four-year old grandson alone, you idiots!
To be honest, I don't care if Arabs get their feelings hurt because we target young Arab apearing males. There's a reason we would do that. As Homer Simpson would say..."Doh!"
Nineteen young, Arab-appearing Muslim males hijacked four commercial jet liners and rammed them into civilian office towers, killing over 2,700 people that we can determine with assurance and hundreds more at the Pentagon. It wasn't Pedro from the bodega on the corner or even from San Pedro Sula, Honduras. It wasn't a norse-appearing 74-year old grandmotherly type who rained death on our people. It wasn't an apple-pie-appearing American family man traveling with his family that slaughtered innocent Americans. It was agroup of Arabic appearing, young muslim men who did those things... the same kinds of people we are fighting in Afghanistan and will in Iraq.
I find it discomforting to distrust my Arabic friends who are followers of Islam these days, but I didn't cause that distrust. Members of their race and religion did that to them... not me, not us. I cannot ever propose or support the idea of another partition of a race of people as we wrongly did to German-Americans and Japanese-Americans in World War II. That was wrong and did nothing to increase our security. Though it may be wrong of us to be this way, it is not our responsibility to delve into the beliefs of every Arab-American we encounter in our communities. It is their responsibility to demonstrate that they publicly and forcefully reject UBL and the mindless hatred and bigotry of the Taliban, the Wahhabi Islamist sect and all hate-America groups, including the Screen Actors' Guild.
I celebrate the rights of those who wish to speak out against the idea of war as a solution in this crisis. While I demand they have that right, I also celebrate and defend the right of others who think differently to call them traitors for their words. The "freedom of speech" they demand is a two-edged sword. They may believe anything they wish and publicy state those beliefs. Those are their rights. Others have an equal right to say what they think of the beliefs of those who say such patently false things or make such mindless arguments that are based in a liberal, hate-America-and-capitalism mindset. When a refusenik or member of the peace-at-the-price-of-appeasement crowd makes a false statement, there is no Constitutional guarantee of a set of Kevlar panties for the idiots. They can, and should, get their intellectual asses kicked by others also freely expressing their opinions on what the jerks said freely and foolishly. The first Amendment guarantees them the right to say anything. It does not impose a need on others to accept or agree with a single word they say, despite their whining when that doesn't happen.
I have found that I refuse to watch any program or film in which any member of that crowd takes part. Richard Gere, Danny Glover, Martin Sheen, Charlie Sheen, Barbara Streissand, Hanoi Jane, Janeane Garafolo, George Clooney, Mike Farrell, Sean Penn, Bill Mahr and all of them may as well apply for unemployment benefits right now as far as I am concerned. In fact, several of them have already seen that they have become box office poison and the folks with the dollars on their side are refusing to use their services. They whine and whimper, but that too is a price they should have considered before shooting off their mouths to badmouth America and our government. Every one of them is, and has been for some time, a high visibility Dumbocan. They are still whimpering and whining about 2000 and are in total denial and apoplexy about November 2002, when the folks who really pay their salaries at the box office or in front of a television set with commericals liberally applied rejected them and their brand of intellectual silliness and moral repugnancy.
Some wise-ass recently said that those who told Martin Sheen that playing the President of the United States doesn't make him President should also remind Charlton Heston the same goes for him playing God. That just goes to show you how ignorant such people are. Heston played MOSES, you dweebs. George Allen played God!
My boycott doesn't end at television and movies for me. I intend to abstain from purchasing or supporting anything remotely French or German. I would remind the leftist, forgive-Saddam crowd that many of your ilk also marched in protest prior to our entry into World War II, denying the existence of Nazi death camps and the slaughter of millions of innocents, including six-million Jews. They claimed the Japanese had no intentions of attacking the United States and those who warned of that possibility were, to them, warmongering. Your type were wrong then and many times since then. These are the same rotten, cowardly b**tards who spit on me and called me "baby killer" when I came back here in a wheel chair, learning how to walk again. They have protested the U.S. on every occasion whiel soaking up all the perks that come from living under the government and social structure they despise, yet have never paid more than lip service to condemnation of Hitler, Chairman Mao, Chairman Ho, Pol Pott, Lan Noll, Kim Jong Il or Saddam Hussein. They are the same asses who say we have to "understand the viewpoints" of UBL, Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbolla and all the haters who don't give a damned about our viewpoints.
Sorry, I really don't care about the viewpoint of someone who wishes to kill me and others who live here simply because we don't embrace their religious dogma and racial bigotry. If it is truly important to those Hollywood types who protest and say such damnedably stupid things, let them inscribe it on his or her tombstone, where it belongs. Let HIS or HER families mourn their loss, not our families mourn ours.
As for Law and Order, I am looking forward to a few episodes in which the U. S. in the 60s is not always portrayed as a criminal enterprise and where average citizens have a right to defend themselves from the bad guys without being punished for it. I am certain the guy who lays Jack McCoy won't be able to stomach those episodes. Good. I hope he suffers a 26-week long case of gastritis.
Way to go, Ron! Thanks for throwing in your words. I was beginning to feel a bit lonely.
