Recently, a Pakistani newspaper editorial writer called on other fanatical Islamic extremists to "kill an American for Allah." A friend sent me this piece written by an Australian who wanted to make certain the maniacs could identify an American and not harm hapless Australians instead.

I think it is the perfect answer to Susan Sarandan, Sean Penn, Rosie Perez, Rosie O'Donell, Barbara Streissand, Martin and Charlie Sheen, Richard Gere, George Clooney and others of their ilk as well as to the blatantly leftist Congresswoman from a western state who made such ridiculous, specious and patently false claims to a high school class about the failures of Americans and contrasted that to the false claims of the works of beneficence of U-some-a been Laidbad, falsely claiming that UBL had done much for the people of Aghanistan.

It also is a direct response to the asses marching around claiming stupidly and maliciously wrongly (because it makes them feel justified in their mindless hatred no matter how false their claims may be that we are only after Iraq for its oil).

How to spot an American:

You probably missed it in the rush of news recently, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan published in a newspaper an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American... any American.

So an Australian dentist wrote the following to let everyone know what an American is, so they would know when they found one:

An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian, African or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Central or South American, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, Arab, Hindi, Khasmitri, Pakistani, or Afghan. An American may also be a Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as "Native Americans."

An American is Christian, but he could just as well be Jewish, Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than there are in Afghanistan or Pakistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them personally chooses. An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he or she will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God, by any name.

An American is from the most prosperous land in the history of the world. The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes the God-given right of each person to his or her personal pursuit of happiness.

An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need and they still do so. When Afghanistan was overrun by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country. As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan. Did that partisan leftist Congresswoman mention that? No, she did not. Why not?

Americans welcome the best... the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best athletes. But, they also welcome the least.

The national symbol of America, The Statue of Liberty, welcomes "... your tired, your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed..." These in fact are the people who built America..

Many of these who were working in the twin Wprld Trade Center Towers on the morning of September 11, 2001, were busy at earning a better life for themselves and their families. I've been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 other countries, cultures and first languages, including many of those that aided and abetted the terrorists.

So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and every bloodthirsty tyrant in the history of the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because, you see, Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. Americans are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.

Help pass this information on "how to spot an American" to your friends around the world and the next time someone says something idiotic around you about what terrible people we Americans are, tell him or her who and what Americans really are. Tell him or her that Americans even permit fools to have their say, no matter how mindlessly and demonstrably and pervertedly wrong what they have to say may actually be.

Z-dr, I hope this also answers your questions for you. Yes, they do have a right to say whatever they wish here, unlike the people under the thumbs of dictators they champion just because it is anti-America hatred. Don't forget, however, that the rest of us also have an equal right to tell them and everyone else how wrong they are and why they are wrong.

That's the real difference between most of us (around 77% according to the polls this weekend) who agree with our President and his course of action to force Saddam Hussein and the leadership of Iraq to live up to their obligations under 16 U. N. resolutions and a cease fire he signed. It's the major difference between us and those who "protest" for appeasement in the name of a false "peace" that is no peace at all, but is instead only a mindless capitulation to tyranny solely for the sake of destroying freedom and democratic self rule in favor of socialistic, monotheistic pipe dreams and warped visions of social structure.

There's another major difference, too. Most of those who mistake license for freedom of speech don't want anyone else to have the same right to speak out as they demand for themselves. They wish to spew their venomous bile and have it go unchallenged. When confronted by an opposing viewpoint, they become apoplectic and often resort to the very mindless violence they claim to eshew. It's the old story of "agree with my benevolent and superior-because-I-say-it-is view of how your life should be or I will kill you!"

Sure, they have the right to say stupid things. We have the same right to tell them and everyone else how stupid what they said is. That angers them because they have no real concept of what, and who, an American is. That's because most of them lack the internal moral compasses and personal integrity needed to find their way to reality or confront the truth. They wrongly believe that because we allowed a moral weasel to occupy our White House, we are as devoid of integrity and moral values as he is and they are. The other reason is that their entire intent is to promote a political or social agenda of negativity. They are still angry because the American electorate resoundingly rejected them and their ideas in November of 2002.

It's long past the time for them, Tom Daschle (along with his obstructionist partisan politcal compatriots) and a number of Repooblicrats who lack a spinal cord to realize who really won the elections in November of 2002.

WE DID! We AMERICANS did.

So long as we do not abuse that power of the majority to oppress, this is still a nation in which the majority rules, as it should in any free society. Despite their facetious claims to the contrary, nothing has changed. We Americans back President Bush and reject the proven lies and continuing deceits of Saddam Hussein.

We Americans are not the cowardly French. We don't "stand upright for our values" by also holding both of our hands above our heads when faced with adversity. The Ambassador to the U. N. from France only proved why France became a third rate nation. It was through their own infamy and cowardice. They don't want us to invade Iraq and find the hidden weapons and prohibited items they, the Russians and the Germans have been selling to Hussein for the past 12 years while they paid lip service with high blown statements about holding some artificial moral high ground. American fighting men and women don't do physical training so we can hold our arms above our heads longer. Our national economic structure is not built around manufacturing white flags for our military to display in the face of adversity and our weapons are not built primarily to withstand being dropped in panic.

I am an American and proudly so. If you wish to try to kill me, come ahead. You don't need a reservation or any further invitation, but be prepared for me to shoot back. That's one reason our Founding Fathers included the Second Amendment in our statement of rights that are ours by dint of our birthright, not some "gift" from any government official.
