I agree - that 2 hour wait because of 10CC drove me bananas - especially as it obviously never occurred to them that not everyone there were exactly interested in seeing them. Their set was even duller than the 2 hour wait (I thought). Didn't some naked guy get up at that point and masturbate on the stage? Or was that the previous year? The Knebworth Chronicles say something about a "naked man dancing onstage and falling off and breaking his ankles", but I distinctly remember a Policeman escorting him away and a poor guy with a mop and bucket cleaning the stage afterwards... yuk!

To add insult to injury hideous 10cc started with an extra turgid version of "One Night in Paris" and as for the character who wacked off on stage it was definately that gig...it was during the afternnon and he stood at the front of the tongue. The whole crowd cheered when he reached his peak!!! Mick was rolling about on the stage later (see youtube) so lets hope they cleaned it up properly.

Fantastic day in that Long Hot Summer - great to see Skynrd for what was almost their last UK gig prior to disaster striking, and thought 10CC were good - Don't Hang Up in particular. If memory serves me well (and it was an amphetamine fueled event for us) the guy wacking off on stage was actually Roy Harper, who had been there all day getting steadily more and more wasted, and had made several previous 'appearances' on and around the stage on the day!

Me and my great friend who I still party with were there. We were around 17 and did a 6 week back pack tour through the UK and Europe and ya that wanker got up and did masturbate and then they kept playing it on the big screen!! The concert was unreal!!! Over 250,000 people.....wow!!!! We had a blast!!!!! What a party!!!!!!!
