I am the descendent of Elizabeth Bridgen, through Harry Smith. Their daughter Hilda Smith married Sidney Hickson. Hilda's eldest daughter Audrey married Roy Tyson. I am Audrey's youngest daughter, by later partner, George Allen (from Oldham).
I am eager to find anyone with ANY information on the Smith line (hailed from Portsmouth/Portsea; they were, for generations, bandsmen for the Naval Band, and were music professors). Would also like to find any further images/information on the Bridgen ladies (especially Caroline, a rather unique figure!). Harold Stier / Smith:
Harold took the name SMITH after Elizabeth's marriage to Harry SMITH. He was in the Royal Marines and had a wife, Mabel. They had twins Sylvia and Sidney (named after Sylvia Sidney!)
My Aunt and Uncle were in fact not twins but born closely together. Followed by Twins Raymond and (Anthony who died in childbirth) then my Father David.
I have a tree on ancestry.co.uk Many pictures of Ethel and May who until today I thought were Smiths - also have pictures of Elizabeth
