Subject: John Hardy born 1806

Hello I am from Australia and through family folk lore it has been suggested that our descendant John Hardy a Knife-grinder b Sheffield 1806 (who came out to Australia in 1823 as a convict on the Surry 4) was the son of John Hardy born 11 Oct 1745/ Died 3 June 1806 in Bradford, Yorkshire and his 3rd wife Sarah Wild/Wilde/Wylde. I wonder if you could help me locate any info regharding this family?
I am looking for any evidence that John Hardy Esq MP (William Hardy b 1715 Horsforth and Mary
Waddingtons son) married a Sarah Ann Wilde? His two other wives had passed
away before 1806.

1st Marriage Annis Atkinson was born in of Bradford, Yorkshire. She was
christened on 18 Apr 1746 in Bradford, Yorkshire. She died on 10 Dec
1774. She married John Hardy on 19 Nov 1770 of Bradford, Yorkshire.
They had the following children:
John Hardy MP was born 1 on 11 Oct 1773 in Horsforth, Yorkshire. He was
christened 2 on 1 Dec 1773 in Horsforth, Yorkshire. He died on 29 Sep 1855
in Bradford, Yorkshire. He married Isabel Gathorne on 16 Aug 1804.

2nd Marriage Mary Cockshot was born in of Bingley, Bradford, Yorkshire. She
was christened 2 on 22 Sep 1757 in Bingley, Yorkshire. She died 3 in 1804.
She married John Hardy on 16 Sep 1777 in Bingley, Yorkshire. They had the
following children:
Charles Hardy was born 1 in 1780. He was christened on 5 Jan 1781 in
Horsforth, Yorkshire. He died in 1831 in Sidmouth, Devon.

3rd Marriage Sarah Ann Wilde. They had John Hardy 1806 Sheffield Yorkshire.
John Hardy Esq may have died in a carriage accident 1806, along with his 3rd
wife Sarah (Wild/Wilde/Wylde). Their son John was left an orphan and was nephew of James
Wild/Wilde/Wylde (also from Yorkshire). He died aged 97 in Australia.

I have an address of 37 Burlington Street Sheffield where Ann John�s sister or sister in law lived in 1895. A advertisement in a newspaper inquired about his whereabouts after 50+ years since leaving Shefield. Town and Country Journal (NSW : 1870 - 1907)

John Hardy�s 1895 death certificate states his father was John Hardy and mother Wilds
