Subject: Sarah Harriet Reynolds m Jeffery Otis Prentiss

Marriage banns for he and Sarah Harriet Reynolds were published 2 Mar 1811 in Lancaster, Worchester Co, MA. Married 24 Mar 1811.

Jeffery Otis Prentiss b 10 Jan 1794, d 7 Sep 1818 at St. Helena Island, Beaufort, SC at age 24. Buried in St. Helena Churchyard.

Their children:
i. Julianna Prentiss b Jul 1812, d 10 Aug 1822 at age 10,
buried St. Helena Churchyard.
ii. Rev. William Otis Prentiss
iii. Harriett Jane Prentiss b 19 May 1817, d 8 Sep 1822 t
age 5, buried St. Helena's Churchyard.
iv. Jeffery Otis Prentiss b 15 Oct 1818, d 11 Mar 1820 at
age 1 yr 6 mo., buried at St. Helena's Churchyard.

Rev. William Otis Prentiss was there only surviving child. He was b 30 Sep 1814 at Beaufort, SC; d 19 Sep 1897 at age 82 and is buried in St. Peter's Cemetery on Logan Street in Charleston, SC.

Rev. WOP was an Episcopalian Clergymann serving many churches of the SC lowcountry. Stained glass windows to his memory are in Christ Church, Adams Run, SC and also Trinity Epis. Church, Edisto Island, SC. He was a Magistrate, had 172 slaves at Buzzard Roost plantation in St. Bartholomew's Parish, Colleton District, SC. He was educated in 1833 at College of Charleston and ordained in 1846. He married 3 times and had 23 children.

Jeffery Otis Prentiss is my GGGG GF, Sarah Harriet Reynolds is my GGGG GM, so William Otis Prentiss is my GGG GF.

There are headstones in many local (Charleston, SC) cemeteries with the Fripp name as surname or middle name.
