In your situation Salary Sacrificing motor vehicle expenses would be to your benefit due to the high number of kilometres that you travel each year.

To be most effective, Salary Sacrificing where you acquire a new car under a novated lease is the best option.

How that works is that your employer pays for your lease expenses. Depending on the circumstances you then either pay for your running expenses (ie fuel, repairs & maintenance, registration, insurance) or your employer can pay for these expenses. It depends on your personal situation and what is most tax effective for you, and to what extent your employer is willing to go in administering these expenses.

You need to sit down with an accountant and go over your situation to see what method will give you what you desire, being a greater disposable income.
