His character is uncomfortable. He plays a politician who used to exercising his power over women, and there the tables are turned. And someone, in this case a man, exercises his power over him. The other white man is also a politician, the black man is a rich man, William and his girlfriend play a swinger couple, which explains why they are less shocked.
In the video during the cruise, Joe talks about the shooting with a lot of humor.

I watched this music video twice, to see Joe. It's just not for me. It's like nothing I've ever seen in a music video. I know Sean Flynn has been praised for this work, some calling it art. I don't like the music, either, & muted it the second time through. It's good to see Joe, & the photography is well done. I'm glad for Sean's success, & it's good to see William & Tiiu, & I liked the look Joe's character gave William's, & then William chuckles at Joe, knowing how uncomfortable he is! LOL. I'd heard Joe's comments from the cruise, & I did watch this music video with an open mind, but it is just not in keeping with my taste.
