Speaking Feb 3

Folks --

Just wanted to let you all know I'll be the featured speaker at Java Jo's on Monday, Feb 3. The topic is "The Wisdom of the Body". I will tackle the mind-body interface, our experience as obese people, fad diets, mirror work, reconciling those discrepancies, and some bits of research I've been doing (including one that confirms Lisa Magalotti's thing about Calcium Citrate being preferable).

My angle is about 180* out from the hypnotherapists who spoke a couple weeks ago -- while it IS possible to override the body with your mind, it is preferable to learn to listen to and respect your body's wisdom. That's my angle and my focus, and I've been working hard to prep this presentation.

I know that many (most?) of the readers of this board do not regularly hit Java Jo's meetings, and I've heard several reasons why that's so. I don't know if you'll be willing or able to make an exception for this presentation or not, but I wanted to let you know that it was happening so that you could attend if you wanted to do that.
