It's a bit out of my area of law. But I'll point out a couple of things I'd want to know more about.
One, was the crew affiliated with a subcontractor or are they a contractor? This means everything to anything an OSHA reg might have on culpability of the employers and workers.
Two, your individual responsibility depends on ownership, or tenant status of yours. Also the state in which you reside might come into play and the exact circumstances of the accident, which would be detailed in a report given to the insurance company and any medical reports generated.

I say again, this is not my area of law and only advice from one person to another on this issue. I would welocme a specialist in this area to post anything that would benefit you. Keep one thing in mind when anyone threatens to sue, it is their right to clutter the court dockets with frivalous suits as long as they are willing to put up the filing fees to get them there. Not knowing more about the circumstances and not being a specialist, and having recomended that you seek counsel from one, this is my two cents on it for the moment.

My areas of law are open meeting law, sunshine laws, Freedom of Information Act, public and private meeting law and areas concerning parliamentary law (procedure).

I wish you the best on resolving the issue. I hope another reader who practices in this area of law can offer some help to you. I love that you used this forum as a platform to seek help and to educate others with the same question or just a curiosity in this issue. I encourage anyone and everyone to do the same. I believe open communication yields the strengths of diversity.

Thanks for your post!!!
