Subject: just wanted to introduce myself

hi, i'm here thanks to Betty's invite and thought i'd post a quick message.

my name is laura, i'm 44, and i live in astoria, oregon, a few miles from the coast. i'm a survivor of child abandonment and three rapes sustained when i left home at 13 and 14, the last two by multiple men. i have been living on my own since then. much healing was done in a 16-week women's ptsd group two years ago. i have just joined a new women's group in this town to which we just moved from Portland two weeks ago, so we shall see how it goes.

i also have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome and had to stop working at a job i dearly loved two years ago. since then i have spent a lot of time working on my poetry which i started writing at age 15. i believe that poetry saved my life many times over. if you would like to read some of my poetry, my site is found at:

i recommend starting with "Po�mes du Corbeau" (poems of the crow). there is a lot of me in there.
