Merith snapped an order at Seabeth to join them in the sky, Irenne's anxiety leaking into Merith's feelings. Above them, T'shon set one last piece of firestone in Toreth's mouth, and though the sound grated on his ears, too, he was getting used to it. The bronze swung his head back to glare at the Thread, at the same time concentrating on the path of the firestone. I am ready, and they are too! Let us flame! T'shon raised his arm, in full view of the "wing", then dropped it. Toreth and Merith surged forward, Merith having to slow her speed to match the others. T'shon clutched the harness as the wind rushed over him, and they came closer to the Thread, he could feel Toreth's anger and fury at the menace, for returning, threatening his home! They were almost upon the silver masses now, and Toreth dove, neatly avoiding one clump and heading for another. Just as T'shon feared Toreth had forgotten how to flame, the orange fire licked out and seared the Thread into black char. He repressed an instinct to cheer, knowing that before the day was over, it would become a common feeling.
