Author: S'mer and Arkath
Subject: +Lesson 3+

((You should probably wait a bit, post about chores or feeding, then reply))

~Later that day~

+S'mer and Arkath strode back into the barracks. S'mer gave a shrill whistle accompanied by a sharp bugle, both on the same pitch. S'mer grinned at the weyrlings and started on the next lesson.+
"Okay, now for the stuff you've been wanting to try, so I've heard. First things first, everyone go get their riding straps and put on some of the gear. You need your helmets, boots and gloves. You can wear the other stuff if ou want to get used to using it. You'll wear it during Threadfall. Once you've got you're straps, check them at least twice for stretched or broken leather. If your strap breaks and you fall, a major injury would be the best thing you could hope to sustain. Falling from a great height usually ends in death, and we don't need any early deaths here."
+S'mer paused and looked around sternly, reinforcing his warning while Arkath plodded back over, straps still firmly attached onto him. S'mer turned to the bronze and continued, gesturing to each strap as he spoke.+
"Place the largest loop over the dragon's neck and the two smaller ones on each foreleg. They should be tightened once you have them on, but not so tight as to cut off their circulation. Have your dragon hold out a leg and grab a strap. Pull yourself up and sit between the first and second neck ridge. I'll be checking you before we start flying."
