Bodices are made from bustier patterns or an altered dress pattern from any fabric store. My pageant kid patterns work well if you know how to sew princess seams. It takes some practice but bodices can be made out of lots of fabrics, not just superstretch. Use your imagination. As far as the skirts, they are tricky to get just right but southern skirts = all layers about the same length, cupcake layers are stacked with the longer ones on the bottom and the shorter ones on top. The superstretch is nice if you are making the dress with resale in mind, as it's more adaptable to many different body types. Nothing was prettier than the bridal satin bodice though.
