I can tell you're a big fan of Igor Cavalera (probably a drummer too huh?) Yea...he's awesome...I still have my Sepultura CD's in heavy rotation...(More than slipknot actually) You in a band too? Lemme know...I'll come check you out...I'm pretty sure I'll like your drumming style already...

What you don't seem to understand is that Metal is not a small and very specific genre...it is very very broad.
And many things that don't conform to your idea of metal does not mean its not metal. (I draw the line at linkin park who are NOT metal...more like aggressive pop)
From you're disgust at Deftones and Korn (who are obviously not metal...but good bands in their respective genres) I can see that you're not one who appreciates a wide variety of music...fair enough...thats not a crime.

Well to get to the point...you may speak your opinions and we will respect them...but I am just posting to say that your opinion does not reflect the entire metal community. Slipknot fits in a sub-category of the wide genre of metal...definitely a different sub-category than the style of metal you're used to...but still Metal.

Side notes: Soulfly is nowhere near as good as Sepultura...its like Soulfly and Post-Max Sepultura have split the greatness of the original Sepultura into 2
bands and thus we have 2 not-so-great bands...
Oh well...

Woohoo...me and some friends are goin to watch Cannibal Corpse and Dark Funeral!!! (I'm sure theres a bunch of ppl that will claim that these bands aren't metal either...but like I said before...they don't speak for all of us) Man i'm sure its gonna be brutal there...hope I live through it...and if I don't...then I died well...:D
