Subject: An Awakening

(The cathedral workout room. Free weights litter the floor on one side of the room. The wrestling ring is empty, with several white towels draped over the top rope. Sister Chastity Perpetual, in black sweat pants, a black t-shirt with a large white cross on the front, and a black-and-white wimple, stands in front of the small color television set in the corner of the room. Nicollette D. Wolfwood, wearing black suit pants and a white button-up shirt with rolled-up sleeves, splashes water from a bottle on her face. She pours a little water on her short black hair and runs her fingers through it. Love and Peace watch a repeat of the events involving Twisted Youth and the related promos, followed by Dolores's promo. Sister Chastity remains standing in front of the black television screen, while Nicollette lets out an animal-like cry of frustration and heads toward the swinging punching bag suspended from the ceiling. She attacks it with a series of fierce kicks and stiff punches. Sister Chastity watches her tag team partner for a few minutes in silence, then moves over near the punching bag.)

Sister Chastity: Take care, Nicollette, else thou shalt cause undue injury to thyself.

Nicollette (continuing to attack the punching bag) : I've had it with this! No more is right! What do we have to do around here?

SC: I shall have thy full attention when thou dost speak, Nicollette. Otherwise, thou doth speak unto the very air.

Nic (stopping and turning around) : Ok, you're right. Look, I know that we didn't do any of this for personal glory. Well, not for the most part, anyway. But this is absurd! We're the WIW Tag Team champions, and that means we're the best in the world. We might as well be toilet attendants at Carrot Top's cabana for all the good it does us. There's almost no competition in the Tag Team division right now, so there's nothing for us to do. I don't even care about trying to fight The Strays anymore! I thought last week's "Rampage" would lead to something, but it was nothing more than "That Twisted Youth Show." I've heard of them, I'm sure most people have, but honestly! The WIW isn't their personal playground, and I'm sick of every has-been, never-was, and wanna-be getting more focus and attention than the Tag Team champions of the world! I don't know if Dolores was right and it's because we're women, but I really don't care why. There has to be something we can do.

SC: I find both the actions and the ideals of Twisted Youth most immature, distasteful, and irritating. The vanity of attempting to overrun an entire television program, the complete disrespect for the profession and all those involved in it, and the inability to overcome opponents in a fair and just manner all come together in a wave of sin that doth threaten to engulf the entirety of this federation. Such as we canst nay stand idly by and wait for others to take action. To do so shall result in disaster.

Nic: What did you have in mind then?

SC: While we must always fear evil men, even beyond that must we fear the indifference of good men. That shall be the deciding factor in this war that doth loom on the horizon before us. Those who would do good must now act, and nay rely on words alone to accomplish something.

Nic: You're serious about a war. They said it already, and you know it's for real.

SC: Aye, indeed. And such a war doth require leaders, and those leaders must needs be such as ourselves. We must needs act at once on this matter, and others shall follow suit.

Nic (calming down and focusing) : Yeah. These are our careers, our lives, and our shows too. Spoiled punks like Twisted Youth have no right to jeopardize any of those things. Anyone that would almost hit President Hythe, no matter what is said about him personally, is a complete idiot. Since they don't respect anything, we'll have to find a special way to get our point across.

SC: Indeed. It doth seem clear that the one called Crimson be in the position of leadership of this lot.

Nic: Right. He's the one who brought the other guy in, Abraham Lincoln or whatever. Then they let that waste of breath Eric Doering come play their reindeer games. Crimson's the heart of the whole thing. If he goes, they go too. I doubt either one of those two could function on a successful level without him.

SC: True. Thyself and I hath been present in the WIW from the day the doors first opened. We hath indeed earned our status, and even more. To simply barge in and behave in the manner of Twisted Youth be most unforgivable, and all sins are not forgiven on the mortal plane of existence. Remember what we learned, Nicollette. (Her voice takes on a strange, otherworldly tone) Whosoever shed man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed, for in the image of God may deem a man.

Nic (Her voice sounds like her tag team partner's) : Destroy all that which is evil, so that which is good may flourish.

SC and Nic: In nomine patri fili et spiritu sancti.

(Scene fades to black.)
