Nana: Now back on our way to the office. I think you guys will fit in fine here...just stick with me.
We walked into the office and behind the desk was a lady in her mid 40s typing something on the computer.
Nana: Yo Mrs. Hunter?
Mrs. H: Hey Nana. What can I do for you?
Nana: These two girls are new to this school and they need their schedules and counslers names.
Mrs. H: Oh okay. Well what's your name and what grade are you in?
Chelle: My name's Michele Aniyana Rodriquez...12th.
Clara: Clara Sharina Rodriquez...10th.
Mrs. H:[lookin in 2 different cabinets] Are those your whole names?
Chelle: No we're from down south. And are parents are into that two name thing they do down ner. So they gave us 2 first names.
Mrs. H: Okay. I noticed your accent. It's cute. Well here are your schedules. Your counslers' names are on there too.
Chelle/Clara: Thank you.
Mrs. H: No problem. And Nana you won't be in here runnin up my phone bill today will you?
Nana:[smiling] Me run up the phone bill? You must have me confused with someone else. Another Nana or somethin. Cuz I'm never on the phone in here.
Mrs. H: Yeah yeah. Save it girl. I'll see you later on today when one of your teachers get tired of you. [laughs]
Nana: Aiight Mrs. H see ya.
Mrs. H: Bye.
We walked out the office and looked at our schedules.
Nana: What classes do you have?
Chelle: Calc, Honors English 4, African American History 2, European History, Spanish 5, AP Bio, and Advanced Sociology.
Nana: Dang girl. Those are all honors classes. So wha are you a brain?
Chelle: No I like to think of it as just highly gifted. I hate it when people think I'm smart and just a genius. I just study hard.
Nana: Tha's coo. Wha homeroom are you in?
Chelle: I'm in 324, Mr. Bryant[don't drool Clara].
Nana: OH GOD!!! I'm in there too and he is so FOINE. And I do mean FOINE.
Chelle:[laughs] I see. C wha homeroom are you in?
Clara: 321, Mr. Moore[don't drool on this one either Clara].
Nana: Oh girl he FOINE too. Those are the 2 FOINEST teachers we got here. So brace ya selves.
Just then a girl walked up to Nana.
Girl: Hey Nana.
Nana: Hey Kay Kay.
Kay: So who's this?
Nana: Oh these are the new girls...Chelle and Clara. Girls this is my best friend Kaylonie, Kay, or Kay Kay.
Kay: Hey. Where are you guys from?
Chelle/Clara: Hey.
Clara: We're from Va.
Kay: Oh the dirty. Coo coo. What made y'all move all the way to the north?
Clara: Our dad's job transferred him here.
Kay: Oh tha's booty. Anywayz has Nana showed you guys around?
Chelle/Clara: No, not yet.
Nana: I was just about to do that.
Kay: Okay well I'll come along.
Nana and Kaylonie took the time to show us where each class was and wha was the quickest way to get there and what not. They were really a big help. Nana and I had Advanced Sociology and African American History 2 together too. Kay was in the 11th we didn't have any classes together except lunch. She was in Trig and I told her if she needed help that I'd help her with whateva I could...all she had to do was ask.
Weeks went past since that first day that my sister and I started at Joseph M. Timbermount High School. By then I had met Kaylonie's boyfriend, Jiz. That boy was so bright...I mean he had the sun beat he was so bright. But he was cute I guess if you like that type. We also met his friend Lami. I told him his name sounded like lemonade and he got all mad at me. Talk about up tight. Now he was cute but he wasn't my type besides I could tell he liked my sister anywayz. Jiz, Chris, and Lami always hung out. But they always talked about another boy named Antoine or Haze. What type of name that was I didn't know. I mean I'm from the dirty so I hear some made up names all the time but this one was new.
Though they talked about him I never saw him. I was startin to wonder if they were all talkin about an imaginary friend or somethin. Cuz this nigga was never seen. That was until at cheerleading try outs.
